What is Passive Aggressive Behavior

Passive-aggressive behavior is the behavior of acting indirectly aggressive rather than directly aggressive. Passive-aggressive people regularly exhibit resistance to requests or demands from family and other individuals often by procrastinating, expressing sullenness, or acting stubborn.

Boundaries affect our physical (Personal Space), Ego and Self Image.


Eliminating Passive Aggressiveness

  • ·       Be an assertive Communicator.
  • ·       Express anger in positive ways.
  • ·       Identify unmet needs and violated Boundaries.
  • ·       Practice Saying No to requests that you don’t like to participate in.
  • ·       Express yourself with I statements.
  • ·       Become aware of body language.
  • ·       Make eye contact without shuffling/moving in your space.
  • ·       Don’t make dramatic gestures.
  • ·       Become conscious of emotional reaction and how they feel, then keep them out.

Steps for conflict resolution

  • ·       Cool down, exercise your anger and gain control.
  • ·       Discuss problems from each one’s point of view
  • ·       Brainstorm ideas and options
  • ·       Discuss pros and cons
  • ·       Choose solution best for all parties
  • ·       Execute solution
  • ·       Evaluate solution
