1)the part about likening the previous iraq to anything remotely similar to a normal classroom is SO off-target; should be more like the teacher is in sado-masochist leather gear, holding a ten foot whip, and has the obedient students chained by their leather collars each to his desk, and they are licking his shoe. (and there is one dead student, bound and gagged, stuffed into his own desk, that everyone is ignoring.)
2) where is the NEW teacher in the "after Saddam" scenario?????? It's not like the students went wild because the old teacher suddenly vanished; someone else took charge .. hmmm .. I wonder who's in charge of the current chaos...
Ibn Bint Jebeil, I do agree with your 2 points and actually took note of that when I put it there, but I am pretty sure it was NOT meant to show that Saddam was an angle because everyone in that class room was scared or horrified of him (Could've been expressed more like you said) but also it shows another important aspect, the many different sects there that were silent just because of Saddam, not because they are peaceful organizations..now that he is gone, anyone takes his place is going to be milder in comparison (to these sects).. 9:42 AM

totally true, except for two things:
